CoMFoS11 will be held from 8 to 10 October 2011 in Hiroshima, Japan.

What is CoMFoS.

The CoMFoS is the part of the activity group of Mathematical Aspects of Continuum Mechanics (MACM) in JSIAM , whose source was the workshop on Theoretical Researches of Fracture Mechanics held at KKR Yamashiro Sou (Ishikawa Prefecture) on January 27--29 1995. This CoMFoS1 would provide a good opportunity for both engineering researchers and mathematical researchers to exchange their ideas and views on theoretical fracture mechanics.

Our group restart as the activity group CoMFoS in April, 2005, whose fundamental principle was collaboration between mathematicians and engineers in fracture mechanics.

Now, the name of our group has been changed to Mathematical Aspects of Continuum Mechanics to cover wider fields, however we keep the principle that the collaboration between mathematicians and engineers.

CoMFoS is the previous name of our activity group in JSIAM, that is, the abbreviation of Continuum Mechanics Focusing on Singularity.
