CoMFoS

  CoMFoS run with the help of Grand-in-Aid for Sicentific Research #1934007 “Mathematical research on CoMFoS (see above, organizer K.Ohtsuka)”and research expense in Hiroshima Kokusai Gakuin University.

Language

In CoMFoS, there are foreign members and some parts are written in English.

Research fields

  • Mathematical modeling of fracture phenomena team up with mathematicians and researchers in engineering, Japanese and foreign reseachers
  • Shape optimization/sensitivity analysis also with researchers from multi-fields
  • Programming with mathematics because mathematics is language for human not for machine, so the results by mathematics will remain even if the architecture of machine will be hardly changed. (for example FreeFem++ )
  • Information design The webmaster teach “Web site design”and “Web application”. The site is constrcted using MaKR (Mathematical Konwledge Repository). However the development of MaKR stops to do it mainly on a mathematics fields; fracture phenomena, shape sensitivity and FreeFem++.

FreeFem++ is the project by J.L.Lions Lab. in University Paris 6, O.Pironneau, F.Hecht. Ohtsuka also take part in the manual.
